The Bionic Boy!

So late this fall the baby gave me an enormous scare! I was driving home with just the two of us in the car and as many of you know he is a very noisy baby! (That may be an understatement) Well he stopped making noise so I pulled over and glanced back at him and he wasn't breathing. I ran around the car and very unceremoniously YANKED him from his car seat (which he didn't appreciate) so he started to cry. Well I took him straight in and so began a whole battery of testing. An upper GI study an EKG a CT (this was because he was a preemie and she wanted to be sure we weren't dealing with a brain bleed) So here is a picture of our bionic boy!

Well we came out at the end of it all with the best results possible. The GI study was very very telling he has terrible silent reflux. During the scan you could see it come up and just sit at the junction between the esophagus and the trachea and he would swallow ans swallow and still it sat there. He is now on some major reflux meds and a monitor (which is a PAIN) but back to his happy self and sooo sooo much fun!
